Just looking at someone the wrong way could be a political act in the 1980s... Anyone who set themselves even an inch outside the norm in the 1980s was politically at risk, so if you were in a rock band then... that meant you were in with Triple Z; it was inherently political, whereas nowadays, it doesn't have to be.
